Parking exemptions city hall
Are you going to marry or enter into partnership in the city hall? In that case you will need two parking exemptions for your wedding vehicle:
- exemption for accessing the Markt
- exemption for parking in the Markt
Access to the Markt
The Markt is located in the traffic-restricted city centre. To access the Markt by car or coach you require a day permit. Please apply at the ParkerenDelft website.
Parking in the Markt
Do you wish to park your wedding vehicle or coach in the Markt? In that case you require an exemption. Exemptions are free of charge and may be ordered online after you have booked your date. You can apply until 6 weeks before the day of your wedding or partnership. Exemptions may be printed direct.
Where to park?
You can park on the southern end of the city hall, next to the bluestone skirting. You are allowed to park here between fifteen minutes before the ceremony and fifteen minutes after the ceremony.
Commodities market
Thursday is the day of the weekly commodities market. Driving or parking in the Markt is impossible then.
How many exemptions?
- Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays: 3 exemptions (including wedding vehicle)
- Saturdays and Sundays: 6 exemptions (including wedding vehicle)

Bus and coach parking
Parking buses or horse-drawn trams is not permitted in the Markt. Buses and coaches may park in the Koepoortplaats and Paardenmarkt.
Route
You reach the Markt by way of the Willem Naghelstraat, Nieuwe Langendijk and the Oude Langendijk. Consult page Work in progress for possible diversions.
Cars and buses up to 9 metres in length may leave the Markt by way of the Touwbrug, left behind the city hall. Buses over 9 metres long can only leave the Markt using the thoroughfare next to the Nieuwe Kerk.
